Notic to the Public about COVID 19 impacted services

NOTICE:

Cataraqui Cemetery and Funeral Services, as an essential service, remains vigilant in our commitment to keeping our visitors, client families and staff safe and healthy.

The Board of Trustees, management and staff of Cataraqui Cemetery and Funeral Services appreciate your understanding of the current need for the following precautions and temporary restrictions.

ACCESS TO OUR OFFICE IS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.

  • Contact us at 613-546-6545 or info@cataraquicemetery.ca to determine if an in person meeting is necessary or if matters can be addressed/resolved by telephone, electronically or by mail.
  • All appointments, shall be limited to up to two (2) individuals (not including staff).

CEMETERY GROUNDS SHALL REMAIN OPEN.

  • Access to the cemetery grounds shall remains open to the public daily from dawn until dusk for visitation and passive recreation.  

SOCIAL DISTANCING SHALL BE OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES.

  • Social Distancing shall be observed and maintained at all times when visiting/attending cemetery grounds or within cemetery buildings.
  • All graveside interments, graveside services, graveside memorials and graveside gatherings, pursuant to State of Emergency directives, are subject to:
    •   Cemetery permission before hand.
    •   Attendee limits:
      • Funeral Home Directed:  No more than 25 attendees (including clergy and/or officiants). Funeral directors, Funeral director assistants and funeral vehicle staff are exempt, but must be no less that a 1:10 ratio of funeral home staff to attendees inorder ensure attendee are safely physical distancing (6 feet) at all times.  Contact tracing is required.
      • Family Directed:  No more than 10 attendees, (including clergy and/or officiant).  Physical distancing (6 feet) shall be maintained at all times.  Contact tracing is required.

FACE COVERINGS SHALL BE WORN WHEN INDOORS.

  • Pursuant to local health unit directives, face coverings shall be worn at all times when inside all onsite cemetery buildings.
