Obituary of Bonny-Ann Greavett

GREAVETT, Bonny-Ann

Bonny passed away peacefully on September 5th, 2023, in her 74th year after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband Gerry; her daughter Laurie (Trevor Hamilton), her son Jay (Cathy); her greatest joy, her grandchildren Griffin, Reide, Olivia, Joshua and Lauren; her sister Debby (Gilbert)  brother-in-law Terry, sister-in-law Julie, cousin Bob Lamont and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by her brother Richard, brother-in-law Nelson, mother Rosemary and father Raymond.

Bonny was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, caring educator and a good friend to so many. Her passion for teaching spanned more than 34 years, and she is fondly remembered by former students and colleagues.  Over the years she was a proud member of various teacher organizations, and volunteered her time with many charitable causes.

Bonny’s greatest pleasures were found in spending time with her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, enjoying food and card games and spending summers at her “happy place” the cottage.  She loved spending time with the “girls”, enjoying lunches and weekend getaways.

The family will be holding a drop in Celebration of Bonny’s Life on Sunday, September 10th from 1pm to 4pm at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, please use rear doors.

The family would like to extend a huge thanks to all family and friends, as well as her PSW’s, the staff on Davies 4, Kidd 10 and at the Cancer Centre for their gentle kindness and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, please make a charitable donation in Bonny’s honour to the Breast Cancer Action Kingston (BCAK).
